This is an awesome picture of the Tandoori Chicken, recipe is posted in the last post!

Shepard's Pie that I whipped up on my VERY own and bread that I made in my bread maker!

First good picture of me in a long time...The kid's kinda cute too

Silas LOVES anybody and everybody's hair! He pulls soooooo hard, I'm always trying to keep my hair from him

Sittin' up BY HIMSELF!

Silas has a little "corner" in our living room where all his toys and car seat and Bumbo are, and he'll sometimes get stuck between our blanket basket and the foot rest, like he is here, but this time he was actually enjoying it.

I do believe congratulations are in order....

My absolutely amazing sister who is the author of this blog, this blog, AND - as I just recently learned - was the #3 best quilting blogger in a quilt magazine (!) is pregnant with her 2nd baby!!! Pretty much everyone who reads this, reads her blogs too, so I'm really just bragging about how cool she is and the fact that she is MY sister, which makes me cool by association...Right? :) Either way, I'm so excited for her and her family and can't wait to be an aunt again!!

YUM-O

My amazing, wonderful, incredible AWESOME Mom sent me a cute package the other day, and in it was a Woman's Day magazine with 3 awesome chicken recipes in it. Over the last few weeks I managed to make all three recipes and they ROCK! They're all really easy and are soooooo good!

Here's the link for all 3 recipes:

http://www.womansday.com/Articles/Food/Recipes/Quick-Cooking-Chicken-Recipes.html

Each recipe said to marinate for at least 15 minutes, but I found if I marinated them up to 2 hours, like it suggests, it's just that much better.

I just barely made the Lemon Rosemary chicken and it was sooo good, but the sauce I made TOOK THE CAKE! I took the rest of the marinade and boiled it so it thickened up and it would kill whatever bacteria that was still in there. I then melted 2 TB of butter into the pan, put in 2 TB of flour and cooked it til it was maybe medium brown, then I just alternated chicken stock and lemon juice til it had the consistency and taste that I wanted - I like my lemon sauces very lemon-y. In all I used almost a whole can of chicken stock and maybe like 5 TB of lemon juice? Rachael Ray's got NUTHIN' on me!!!

With the Tandoori chicken I DEFINITELY recommend making extra of the marinade to put on the chicken after it's done cooking, it was sooo cook, but there wasn't enough after it soaked into the chicken.

All 3 called for either minced garlic, minced ginger, or both. I just minced garlic up myself, and then used powdered ginger (I couldn't find minced ginger when I went to look for it) BUT I will definitely be using the jarred stuff in the future, I'm sure it'd make a HUGE difference!

<--- That's the Mojo Chicken. Easily the easiest chicken dish I've ever made!

Now go and make all three ASAP! Happy cooking!

Randoms

This is a random bunch of pictures from the last few weeks. Enjoy!

Silas has learned to get around quite well, between rolling and trying out his new Army crawl! He started out at the picture above and then all of a sudden...

...Popped out from under the coffee table!! He likes to be under things and well spend a good 1/2 hour just quietly playing under the table!

I can't remember if I've posted this picture, but it's adorable enough to be posted a few times. :)

Me and the BEACH! I got soooo sunburnt! :(

Domesticated Diva!

Now that I've got lots more space to cook in this house I have been having so much fun cooking my butt off! These pictures are from a while ago, but I'm having fun picking up the tricks of taking food pictures - these are definitely some of my best pictures!

Sauteed Zucchini with Parmesan cheese, yummmmmmmmmmm

The zucchini with balsamic chicken with pesto gravy, one of my favorites!

Anyone who's friends with me on facebook saw my note about these yummy cookies, Mexican Chocolate cookies. The recipe was originally a cake recipe but I played with it a bit and turned them into cookies; it's a super easy recipe and I even made the frosting from scratch!

Things are going well, and the weather has cooled down just a bit and it's beautiful here. Silas is keeping us all entertained. He's developed a sense of humor and is just so fun to be around!

Army Crawl!

Well, today's post WAS going to be a witty reporting of my domestic doings and pictures of the house, but Silas decided to premiere his army crawl! I watched him follow my foot for a good two feet before deciding to dare to run and grab my camera, hoping that he'd still do it, and he did!! He didn't go as far this time, but I still manged to get the Army crawl! My baby's growing up!

*EDIT*
For some reason the video isn't loading (it could be our "borrowed" internet...) so I'm just going to post this anyways and put the video up later!

He's so proud of himself!!!

While I'm waiting for the video to upload, I might as well throw some more pictures on here!

This is the kitchen, obviously. I like how my sink is always full of dirty dishes in all of the kitchen pictures I take! Trust me, those got done right after taking this picture!

Another view of the kitchen. The doorway you see leads to 2 of the bedrooms and the 1 of the bathrooms.

Living room!

Another living room view. The chair by the swamp cooler is the best for reading at night! I've cuddled up with a book or two already while here!

This is a door shot of the bathroom, and Silas's bedroom will be the room right to the left of it. You can go into the kitchen through the doorway on the right.

This is the door to the garage, and then on the right is the 2nd bathroom door.
