Update on the world's weirdest belly button!

Thanks to everyone who told me to call the doctor...I just didn't think it was that big of a deal since it wasn't hurting him. I spoke to a nurse at the doctor's office and she said that while it does sound like a herniated umbilical, as long as it doesn't look infected/irritated and isn't seeping or discharging anything he should be fine until his next doctor's appointment, May 5th. He's also got a little eczema going on, so he looks kinda funky but the nurse just said to put aquaphor on him a lot and it should clear up.

And just for kicks and giggles, here's his funny belly button...

Dress ups!

Cuz what what's more fun than dressing your baby in multiple outfits in one day?!



He was all ready to go to Puerta Vallarta with Nana and Poppie , but they just didn't have room in their suitcase! Let me tell you, he is so upset! (As he snores away in his carseat; I'm the one who's sad that I didn't get to go!)

Dang my baby is cute! I can't even be modest about it, he's just too darn cute for that!



Ben's friend Aaron and his wife gave this "pimp suit" to him...As you can see, he's totally swimming in it, but I had to get a picture; it's too dang cute to not!

And also, I'm pretty sure my son wins the "weirdest belly button" award, for his weird-o lookin' one...



I knew that it was funny shaped, and figured that it would go into a normal belly button, but it hasn't and has maybe even gotten a bit bigger? We realized the other day that it's got fluid in it, but neither David nor I are brave enough to do anything about it, and it's not hurting him, so he'll just have a funny belly button til he goes to the doctor again! Hope it doesn't give him a complex later on in life, haha...

Ah, April!

Oh, how I love April...The nice spring weather, the flowers coming up out of the ground, maybe a few showers here and there, and maybe, MAYBE if we're REALLY lucky....




SNOW?! It's April 15th for cryin' out loud!

I hate Utah.

But this little burrito man makes it all worth it. :)

Cute hospital pictures

While we were in the NICU, a photographer came and donated her services to all of the parents that had babies there in the hospital. We just got the pictures the other day and I thought I would share!

Time's a flyin'!

I can't believe Silas is coming up on two months old! It really only feels like yesterday that we were heading down to the hospital to have him! He's such a sweet baby, I really got lucky. I think my favorite moment, oddly enough, is when I get to pick him up from his crib to feed him. He's usually screaming his head off, but every single time I just remember how little, sweet, precious, and darling he is. I can't help but stand there and give him loves and kisses. I figure I gotta get the smothering in while I can cuz all too soon he'll be too much boy to put up with it! He's starting to be more and more awake these days which is so much fun. I got my first smile from him the other day! He had finished eating and was sleeping, or so I thought! I glanced down from the news and he was WIDE awake so I just smiled and said "well hi there!!" and I got the BIGGEST grin from him, it was adorable. Since we've been able to get him to smile a few times, but nothing like that first one!
